I'm into the same thing you are. I can tell you some stuff i know so far. To start with, The Ku klux klan is a aecret organization. Its been here for 131 years. Here's how it began. After the Civil war, life was very depressing. 6 Civil War vets AKA The Jolly 6, wanted to form a social fraternity in attempt to put some joy back in post war life. They would help widows and children by giving them food and goods. They would also don spookey costumes and play jokes on the populants of a specific area.

COSTUMES

The 1st klan did not use the iconic wizard outfit seen today. The 1st klan made their own. The costume materials included Burlap bags, Colored rags, Cloth pieces, And Bed sheets. The klansmen cut eyeholes in the bags to form a hood. The klansmen would wear these costumes to entertain the crowds. However, Some people were supersticious. Most of them black. They thought these klansmen were actually ghosts. So it scared them.

THE 2ND KLAN

William J. Simmons sold the KKK as a very large freternal order for white Christian prodistents. It was very patriotic. It praised 100% americanism. However, They added Catholic sand Jews as their enimies
